Kidding Around ~Cleveland

You rock, Cleveland. My friend has moved to the Cleveland area and told me she misses this blog so I offered to send her some sources and ideas on getting situated up there.  I drafted this post just to gather my thoughts for her but realized I should actually publish the post as these links might be helpful to someone else moving, planning a NE Ohio staycation or daytrip.

I'm not familiar with areas or neighborhoods of Cleveland myself so the first thing I'd do as a new mom to the area would be to try and connect with other parents.  Meetup is a great place to start, of course.   If you're on facebook, type in  Cleveland mom then tab over from All results to groups.  There are also some page suggestions there.

While you are out and about, stop and look at every bulletin board you come across.  I'm sure you've noticed by now, a good portion of the photos I share were snapped on my cellphone!

Get yourself to the library.  I'm sure they all offer a classic storytime, some may lend video games and I've just learned you can borrow toys from the Cuyahoga library.

As you like or follow any of these locations or blogs on facebook, go to the Liked by this Page section and check out what they like, might lead you to area mom bloggers, groups, hidden gems in your area, etc).  Then see what has been posted to that page, someone might have posted about a cool upcoming event.

Check out the area's attractions.  Might be worth getting a membership to a museum that offers the best reciprocal admission.
