WARREN - A local organization is offering partial scholarships for girls going into seventh and eighth grades interested in mathematics, science and technology to attend a summer camp at Denison University.
The Warren American Association of University Women will pay 45 percent of the $490 cost to attend Be WISE Camp.
Mary Ognibene of AAUW said the girls get to stay in dorms for the week, which focuses on fun educational activities such as sampling water from a nearby stream. "The girls, because of their interest in science, technology and math, see that it can be fun and will hopefully pursue a job in that area," she said.
