What to do when it's raining/snow day/too hot and you need to get out of the house...

We all know the weather around here isn't always ideal so here's a little list of rainy day suggestions...

Bounce Houses 
Austintown and Boardman

Bowling I think just about every area has a bowling alley, most offer bumpers for the kiddos
Sign your kiddos up for the Kids-bowl-free program 

Burger King   many of the locations offer a play area

Butler Art  there are locations in Howland and Youngstown and both offer free admission.  The Youngstown location houses The Sweeney Gallery that has hands-on stations allow youngsters to create art.

Chick fil a has a nice little playarea for the younger set

Chuck E Cheese  check their website for coupons and games to earn tickets







Indoor-water-parks

Jump Around!

Library   we are lucky to have so many libraries in this area.  Go explore one in a neighboring town, for example, the Girard's library has a little puppet stage while the library in downtown Youngstown has a cute theme.

Hit the Mall

-Eastwood Mall  there's a play area for the little ones, a train ride for the young at heart and an aquarium to visit
-
Shenango-valley has a play area and party zone-Southern Park Mall has a great play area for the little ones.

McDonald's   the locations in front of Super K and in Austintown offer a play areas but my kids get just as big a kick out of the Most Magnificent McDonalds in the Warren/Howland area.

Mill Creek's Metro Parks Farm offers a play room that is open April-October
  M- F, 9am - 2pm; Sat., 10am - 1pm

Paint a Masterpiece!
Painting studios are popping up all over (Party Art in Howland, Paint & Pints in Niles, Imagination Creative Arts Studio in Girard) see if they have some open studio time.  Click here for post with other area studios

Party-zone
indoor play center located in Shenago valley mall

Salem Fun Factory  there website indicates they have skating, bounce houses and trains!
 They have a rollerskating rink upstairs, a bounce house and kids play area (tunnels and slides etc.) downstairs. Trains will be set up on an adventure track,
 kids will be able to crank themselves around the track through tunnels and around other props as well. 

Skating  I think there are rinks in  Cortland, Youngstown and Austintown as well as an indoor ice rink in Boardman -The Ice Zone
Sign your kiddos up for the Kids Skate Free program (currently honored at Skate Zone & Champion Skate) 


Swim!  There are a few indoor pools in our area (Hubbard, JCC in Liberty), see if any are offering open swim hours.  Here's my list of pools in this area.



See if 
Ward Beecher Planetarium is offering a show
usually only Friday & Saturdays but there have been spring break shows in past
